Short-term and long-term disability insurance coverage is available to you as a full-time employee of Brooks Rehab.

Short-term disability (STD) is available for full-time employees to purchase either a Base or a Buy-Up option. This benefit begins on the 15th day of a qualified disability and pays for up to 11 weeks.
Basic long-term disability (LTD) is offered to all full-time employees at no cost. Eligible employees have the option to add an LTD buy-up plan.
Short-term Disability
Short-term disability (STD) is available for full-time employees to purchase either a Base or a Buy-Up option. This benefit begins on the 15th day of a qualified disability and pays for up to 11 weeks.
Long-term Disability
Basic long-term disability (LTD) is offered to all full-time employees at no cost. Eligible employees have the option to add an LTD buy-up plan.
MetLife gives new hires the opportunity to enroll in short-term disability or long-term disability buy-up plans on a guaranteed issue basis without answering any medical questions.
Guaranteed issue means regardless of your health, you cannot be turned down or declined for this coverage.

Maternity leave for full-time employees would be covered under the elected STD benefit and would pay at least four weeks for a vaginal delivery and six weeks for a C-section delivery.

If you have received treatment for any condition three months prior to the effective date, you will need to be treatment-free for 12 months from your effective date before benefits will be paid for the pre-existing condition.
